Amigurumi Naima and Husband Person

I do not normally like to show off the gifts that I get but we received these sweet little amigurumi likenesses of me and the Husband Person from my sister. This is the only time you will see me taller and with better hair than the Husband Person. =)

I wish you all a wonderful holiday season!

Zill Muffs

I am working up some crocheted zill muffs to sell at the Workshop and Bazaar in 2 weeks. They are super thin, super light, and stretch to fit your standard 2 inch Nefertiti's but are snug enough they don't slide around or need elastic to hold them on. They look like cute little flowers and I enjoy them much more than the thick ones I was using. Thick muffs completely muff the ring of the zill but dramatically change the way the zills feel and the amount of power you use to strike them together vs no muffs. As a novice, I need the zills to feel as much like they would on stage when I practice.

Here is a sound test so you can hear the difference it makes when you are practicing with and without zill muffs.

Sa'dia's Zill Muffs

I made Sa'dia a pair of crochet 3"zill muffs. They seem huge in my hands and turned out way cuter than my pair of muffs did. They look like flowers.

Sa'dia has also started blogging here. You should check it out and encourage her to post more.

I'm still getting used to my labret piercing. In the morning when I look in the mirror, I briefly wonder at what point in the night I rolled over into a tool box and got stuff stuck to my face. Then I remember I paid good money for it and proceed to the kitchen for coffee.

BDay Week

Naima lip syncs "Rainbow Connection" by Kermit the Frog

Now playing: Dyksick Live @ GX
mood: okanomiyaki

Sorry I disappeared. Been a busy 2 weeks. The lip sync Bday party was probably the best birthday EVER! There were great classics like "I Think We're Alone Now," "YMCA," and "Baby Got Back." We all had so much fun that we plan to do it again.

Somewhere in there was the 4th of July with Knife*Death @ Ground Xero celebrating "Freedom's Birthday."

Lambert's Chicken Fried Steak

Saturday I had more sushi then I could shake a stick at. Literally. Sunday was stuff-face day at Lambert's. Thanks Kev and Mel.

I did meet with a couple of BD friends and drilled shimmies and such. As I said, trying to get muscles back under control. Greek Night is coming up August 2nd. Seems like we just had one. I need to do some costume repair first.

That's all for now. Just wanted to give you an update. All of you holding your breath for like two weeks, right? HAHA

OH!

Almost forgot! I went to the Dr. Friday due to constant pain in right wrist and forearm. I am on a 2 week diet of anti-inflammatories, icing my wrist after work, and splinting it at night. If that doesn't bring it under control then I may have to have nerve testing to see if I have carpal tunnel syndrome. =( This also means no crochet for a while either. =( =(

A Day in the Life of...

Now playing: M. Night Shyamalan's The Village
mood: cheesecake and Oreos

Yea! Bellydance pics on a bellydance blog. There's a concept. Ananya and I car pooled to Global Dance Collective's 1yr. Anniversary on Saturday. I remembered to take my camera. Only about half of the pics I took came out. The rest were all blurry. The view screen on the back of my camera is going out. If you guys would just pitch in and buy me a new camera I promise I would take more BD pics.

Amira and the cutest Little Egypt Costume ever...

Then we headed back to GX for DJ Darkboy's bday party. First we made him wear a blue tiara with marabou trim.

Then we gave him a cake that looked like a butt.

Then we all had a piece of ass

If you are ever stumped on what kind of gift to get someone, you can never go wrong with zombies...

Box o' Zombie
"Hey stop trying to take pictures of me!"

"I'll just do this so you can't see me."
"AAAAHHHH! DON'T TOUCH ME THERE!"
"I don't like you anymore."
"Heh, Heh, Heh..."
More crochet

Mouse toy, has been tossed around on the floor a bit.

Lastly, to make you feel warm and fuzzy...the cutest kitty ever!

New Layout

BLAM!

After much frowning at my last blog layout I decided to change it again.

No nifty BD updates. I've been busy with other things such as,

Tearing up perfectly good VHS tapes to make recycled crochet bags with them.

Here is my Showdown in Little Tokyo bag in progress. I didn't know how much crochet I would get out of 79 mins. of video so I had to make the straps with Tae Bo Basics with Billy Banks. Which I feel is quite fitting. It is done but I have no finished pics of it.

Posing with the ladies @ S.I.N. Wrath this past Saturday.
Naima, Ananya, Jen, and Vicky

I also had a really fun girl-day @ Lu's house. I hope we can continue meeting once a month or so. I definately enjoyed the destress time away from work and the club.
