Digging through box o'junk and found a remnant from 04/09/05 (almost 4yrs old) in an awesome orangey red that matches my new coin stuff. And it's shiney! If this keeps up I will have a closet full of red costumes. =)
This is why you buy and horde stuff you don't need. So you can make economic recession costumes. I should start a BD clothing line called that.
Economic Recession by Naima - Cheap, Chic, and may or may not contain recycled Walmart bags.
Taking old crummy bra and reworking it into costume bra. I hate working on the bra.
Naima's random BD thoughts for today:
Greek Night is in just over a week, YIKES!
I have to start working NOW if I want to have a number ready by May for Princess workshop, Double YIKES!
Making the Earth better with a coordinated effort that is easy as turning off a light switch on Mar 28th.
1. What is Earth Hour?
Earth Hour is World Wildlife Fund's global initiative where individuals, businesses and governments turn off their lights for one hour to show their support for action on climate change.
Earth Hour is a symbolic event designed to engage people from all walks of life in the climate change discussion to send a strong message to our political leaders that we want them to take meaningful action on climate change.
The largest climate event in history where millions of people around the world will unite by turning off their lights for one hour, Earth Hour, to demand action on the climate crisis.
2. When is Earth Hour?
Earth Hour 2009 takes place on Saturday, March 28, 2009 at 8:30 pm–local time.
Just like New Years Eve, Earth Hour will travel from time zone to time zone starting at 8:30pm in New Zealand.
Aside from just turning off lights, I am going to unplug our electronics, chargers, and non-essential appliances.
Here are some things you can do for the hour:
Light some candles Read a book, comic, magazine Play cards or board game Drill you BD moves Have a romantic evening with someone (ie. have sex in the dark) Play, groom, spend time with your pets (or children) Hand sew, bead, knit, crochet, or other handicraft (if you have enough candles to see by) Have a drum circle Take a nap Take a candlelight bubble bath If it is mild, sit outside and enjoy the evening Eat, Drink, be Merry
For more info check out www.earthhour.org and select your city/country to help out.
Go forth and save the world!

Here is an edited email I received with info on the Princess Farhana workshop coming up May 1-2 in Buffalo, MO.
It is almost time for my May workshop and I am so excited to have Princess Farhana, I have wanted to attend Princess’s workshops for some time now and thanks to my partnership with Judy we are able to bring her to Missouri. For the first time we will have Friday night & Saturday workshop classes. Friday night will be the “controversial” Burlesque class! I know you say Burlesque - Belly dance we try so hard to keep them apart - so yes one is Friday night the other Saturday. I been told this class is so much fun and face it girls sometimes you need to let your hair down and have some crazy fun!
The Saturday Lovely Layers has super reviews and Princess said it is her most requested class. This may be the best price deal for a 2 day workshop around only $75 for both days “must Preregister by April 24th”. If you want to dance in the Saturday night show please e-mail or call soon, it will fill up fast. If you prefer to pay with paypal e-mail me or call so I can give you that info. I can also take credit cards over the phone. Judy is handling checks, see form for Judy’s address.

I plan on dancing to their music next Greek Night on March 7th. Some day I will see them live. I've never been to Canada after all.
For Valentine's day, the husband person "gave" me the squirrel he caught in our basement <-That's love right there. We've been trying for months to catch them running from our attic to our basement through the walls. (He caught a second one on Sunday).
Then we drove it to a cemetery and set it free. Valentine's at a cemetery. How goth-y is that? =P
The cemetery is down the street from my mom and sister. Hopefully, the squirrel won't move into their house.
Then I picked up some knitting needles for around $2.50 and started teaching myself basic garter stitches. This was a bad idea because my wrist pain started back up pretty strong while working last week and knitting a few rows only exacerbated it more. Not to mention I thoroughly suck at it. Once my pain lessens, I figure I will make potholders for practice since I have so many crocheted scarves.
We failed at having a VHS marathon and ended up having a Fallout 3 marathon instead. I finished the main quest, was sad, and reloaded my old save and continued playing.
This is my new best friend Fawkes, aka "Joe the Super Mutant". I also enjoy playing with "Joe the Feral Ghoul Roamer" and "Joe the slaver."

Now playing: Farscape season 4 mood: a long john, or two
In celebration of my 300th post...A Taste of Honey. As part of my childhood, when staying with my grandma, we would listen to her classical record collection, and this one other record over and over.
If I had theme music that played when I was having a good day, it would NOT be bellydance or gothy music. It would be this.
In case you didn't know, Herb Alpert & The Tijuana Brass are the pimpest. Dude, it's a whole orchestra playing in tuxes on the beach...I mean COME ON! =)

mood: Whipped Cream and Other Delights, OMG! It's the 40th anniversary edition on CD! Somebody out there loves me and should prove their love by getting this for me.
I was going to post a BD post, really, but this just had to come first.
As my Valentine to all of you I give you Bonnie Tyler and one of the bestest 80s songs ever. If I could carry a tune, this would be my karaoke favorite. BTW, this video makes zero sense but I recommend you crank it up and sing along!
Belly Dance Hafla Friday February 13th Alive and Well Studio 2740 S. Glenstone Suite 105 Springfield, MO. Belly Dance Party 7pm
(I will not be making it, as the Husband person and I are digging out the VCR and having a Valentine's movie marathon all weekend. Along with some Xbox 360 as well.)

now playing: Farscape season 3 mood: mac and cheese with hotdogs cut up in it, and maybe some dark cherry kool-aid <-follow this link, click a dance (a yellow button) on the right side of page, then click "shake it" (purple button) and turn up the sound - Kool-Aid Man is totally gangsta, LOL
I must go to a workshop this year. One that I am not being paid to be at. One that I can get in a car full of my BD friends and have a grand time.
I have no idea which/what workshop to go to. I am 99% positive that I will go see Princess Farhana in May since she will be so close, (Buffalo, MO). But it would also be nice to go on a road trip for a workshop. No where super far. Just an overnighter or something.
So what workshops are you (the BD'ers reading this) going to this year? I need suggestions.

Now watching: the boys playing Gears of War 2 mood: clam chowder
