HAHAHAHA! I totally ripped this off of Welcome to the Revolution.
Still around. Still busy.

Fatima Bling

Now playing: nothing actually
mood: mini snickers

Check out the most awesomest gift I got from Ananya. Tee Hee. I 've been wearing them every day. Now all I need is a pendant the size of my fist and I can ward off the evil eye from all directions.

I succeeded in making a combo up for the workshop choreography while in the kitchen waiting from the microwave to beep. I was so proud, LOL!

Got to go to work...

Enough electricity...

...To power a 3rd world country. Or something like that. Found this pic on Sa'dia's myspace from last Greek Night. Not exactly flattering but amusing none-the-less.

Stuck in a Rut

Now playing: tormentedradio.com
mood: a big greasy sit down restaurant style cheese burger, everything, no tomato

I sat down to sew on my costume projects the other day. I bought a piece of orange sari material that compliments my yellow project perfect, but forgot to buy orange thread. So I moved on to the fuchsia and black argyle piece. Well, I am to the part wear I want to add some chiffon inserts (like the pic above) and a belt. No black chiffon. So much for sewing.

I decided to work on an old drawing project that I rediscovered about 3 weeks ago that has been lost for a few years. A few days ago, I spent a good hour looking all over the house trying to figure out where I put it so it, "wouldn't get lost again." No luck there either. Instead I grabbed the promo photo Maharet took and sketched it out a bit just to get the whole, "I wanna make art," thing out of my system. I'm not very pleased with it. I used to be able to do much better but I just don't draw any more.

To top off my lovely weekend, me and the old man are sick with the crud. I am doing my best to try and OD on the herbal "get over cold quicker" tablets and hope it passes very soon.

I also found out that I cannot dance at the next scheduled Greek Night. Luckily, I have a replacement already lined up. I also can't dance at the Light the Night Walk on Oct. 6th. Having 2 full time jobs isn't exactly conducive to happy dancing. My dance calendar looks pretty sad. On a bright note. Maharet told me that she is already getting calls about the workshop for next May. Yay! It should be a lot of fun. I am hoping that by next year I can get back into the groove of going to BD workshops and classes. I have hardly seen any of my dance friends and miss them all very much.

Blast from the past VIII

Now playing: Beats Antique - Tribal Derivations <-score

mood: need to dye my roots

So, here I am walking in a St. Patrick's Day parade representing "Irish Gypsies." Despite the fact that bellydance has nothing to do with an Irish religious holiday and that the term "gypsy" is politically incorrect, the real suck ball thing that you don't know is just to the left out of site of the camera.

A week before the parade, a high school boy got shot and killed by another boy and the funeral home is RIGHT THERE! I had just walked past it in the picture. All of the boy's friends and family, wearing dark clothes and giving each other hugs were standing RIGHT THERE (like 50 of them) as the parade goes by with people laughing and cheering, throwing candy to the kids standing out in front of the funeral home. People had the gaul to throw candy at the grieving family's kids!

I had to parade past these people, dressed as an "Irish Gypsy" during a funeral on St Patrick's Day.

The face I am making in the picture is me feeling like a complete idiot.
