Light the Night Tally

Now playing: Robin Hood BBC
mood: coffee cake

Windy, cardboard box, crummy arms, oh well.

My final total raised for Light the Night was $79, HOOOO!

Doing the last minute panic before Hips Noir this weekend. I'm so frustrated with my fusion piece I think I will just beat my choreography notebook on stage.

BTW, if any of you are coming to the Read My Hips workshop this weekend, I recommend dance shoes and a yoga mat or towel. The concrete floors at GX are not that friendly.

Performing this Sat @ Light the Night

(didn't I say my mouth is always wide open? pic: C Bryant)

Our bellydance LtN team will be performing at the Bass Pro Headquarters from 6:30pm before the walk begins. I will be performing the choreo I taught in May (if I can remember it all).

You have 5 days left if you want to donate to my LtN page HERE.

As for Hips Noir next week, I am totally unprepared. I got my costume pieces cut out but I am epic failing with my fusion choreo.

Lastly, Happy Bday Ananya!

and

Happy Anniversary to me and me sweety!

Weekend Update

The Light the Night Walk is only 2 weeks away here in Springfield, Saturday, Oct. 4th.

I will be preforming with the other BD ladies walking under the Recherche Team sometime after 6pm but before the walk begins at sunset. You are welcome come watch or walk with us. I have raised $25 already. Please donate in any amount to help fund research for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.

Visit My Light the Night Donation Page to donate.

I am leaving tonight for Hootin an Hollarin. I promise to film some of the dancing and post it here. I will also have some funnel cake and other tasty country fair goods!

Now playing: Dungeons and Dragons the animated series (Did You Know, "The level of violence was controversial for children's television at the time, and the script of one episode, "The Dragon's Graveyard", was almost shelved because the characters contemplated killing their nemesis, Venger.[1] In 1985, the National Coalition on Television Violence claimed it was the most violent show on network television.") HAPPY 25TH ANN!

Now eating: baked apple with cinnamon, sugar, vanilla ice cream, and coffee...yes, fine

Vacation

Now playing: Really bad day time television
mood: brown bag lunch in the park

I have been on vacation since the 23rd. I am successfully maintaining a balance between doing nothing and getting things done. Such as...

Nothing
Reading
Nothing
Movie
Nothing
Laundry
Nothing
Mow lawn
Nothing
Groceries
Nothing
Reading
And so on...

I have also been practicing the fine art of sleeping 10-12 hours a day. Today is only the 2nd time I've even looked at my laptop. It's been kinda nice. We are going camping Sunday for the Labor Day holiday. We haven't been camping at this site in many years.

On a side note, I've collected $8 in cash for Light the Night. Only 5 weeks left to go. Please visit My Light the Night Donation Page and help me reach my fundraising goal.

Light the Night Walk Oct. 4th

October 4th, 2008 will mark 4 years that our local bellydance community has raised money and walked in the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's Light the Night Walk. We walk in memory of Jasara, bellydance teacher and friend, who passed away from Lymphoma in Feb. 2004.

Some things to know about blood cancers:
  • Every five minutes someone is diagnosed with blood cancer. Every 10 minutes, someone dies.
  • Leukemia causes more deaths among children than any other cancer.
  • Nearly 20,000 Americans died from lymphoma in 2007.
  • The survival rate for myeloma is just 34 percent.
Please visit My Light the Night Donation Page and help me reach my fundraising goal.

If you are in our area join our Springfield bellydance team! Visit the Recherche Dance Team Page to sign up. Our local walk is organized behind the Bass Pro Shop on Campbell and Sunshine. There is a 1 mile or 3 mile course through the local neighborhood that starts at dusk.

We always have a lot of fun!

Naima Was Here

Now watching: Farscape some more...

mood: chocolate, froo froo coffees, cheesecake, bon bons...oh wait, I mean raisins. Yeah, just some raisins.

So our "Belly-Mom", Lisa, just posted some pics from my bachelorette party and wedding from 2006. All of the goofy things we did to raise money at my party was given to the Lukemia Lymphoma Society.
