What a pity, but I think you can do something with it to be able to use it: In this case I think you can't take off fabric on the top site, but I think you can do from the bottom bit. You got to save the bit with the beads and you can stitch the beady bit back on (not the whole piece of course, just the edge with the beads), since the fabric isn't too thick I don't think it would be noticible.

My Mom did some ninja sewing and tacked the bottom edge up high enough for me to wear. I will post pics soon.
